Financial Literacy for Youth

What school did you attend? What’s your postcode? What were your parents’ educational background? What were your parents’ occupation? What proportion of indigenous students attended your school? Do you speak any other language other than English? 
 
The answers are computed to obtain an indication of socio-educational backgrounds of students in Australia and used as a tool to compare schools with students of similar backgrounds. These factors are translated to an ICSEA value and percentile (ICSEA - Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage) and reported on www.myschool.edu.au
 
Aware of the socio-economic and education disparities that surround us and compelled to make a difference, Jenny Rachmat founded a financial literacy program called YOLA – Young Once Learning Always. Run over a series of 3 workshops, the program is aimed at disadvantaged and disengaged high-school students across Perth. The objective is to provide students with a better understanding of basic financial concepts so that they are better equipped to avoid common traps and empowered to make informed financial choices for their future.

Jenny joined Morgan Stanley in 2008 and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) with over 18 years’ industry experience. 

Jenny is a mother of 2, yoga enthusiast and she is also involved in various philanthropic commitments as a board director.
