Hello everyone,

I hope that everyone is well with all this situation that is happening in the world. I know it’s not easy, but we can get through this.

For the past few weeks I have been keeping in touch with my family in Brazil, because unfortunately my maternal grandparents happened to be diagnosed with the virus. To everyone’s surprise, my grandpa is doing very well, but my grandma has been incubated in the hospital for 10 days and for now is no prediction of when she will be released.

I have been self-isolating with the Inouye’s family over the past two weeks so far and I am very grateful for that. I’ve been busy with lots of fun like bike rides, games, swimming in the pool and many more things. It’s impossible to be bored with this lovely family by my side.

Shenton College is keeping us busy with online assignments. So, every morning I focus on my school priorities so I can have the rest of my day to enjoy outdoor activities. But to be honest I am missing school, missing my friends. In my opinion it is much better learn new things when you are at school with the teacher able to explain and also answer your questions. All the teachers are available to students during the school period to guide us in the tasks requested, but it’s still not the same.

I am more than happy to be in Australia. I’ve been talking with Rotary in Brazil and we do not see need for me to go home and I am so pleased with that. Unfortunately, some of the exchanges students hosted by our district have decided to go back to their home.

We do not know what is going to happen in the next months, so we only have to hope for the best.

Thank you so much for everyone and I really hope to see you soon in our normal weekly meetings.

Sincerely,

Laura.
