Dear all

It’s the week of the District Conference and I will be attending together with approx. 280 Rotarians and their partners in Margaret River at HEART (Hub of Entertainment, Arts and Regional Tourism). I look forward to meeting lots of old and new Rotarians and spending some downtime with a short break down south as well.

We celebrated Holi (Festival of Colours) as a family on 15th March and I share a few colourful pictures that I always enjoy taking at this event. It’s always been my favourite festival growing up and clearly saw, Mansha not being too far from liking it the most as well. I did share a story with some videos at the last lunch about “Apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree”.

We had the RI District 5300 VVT panelists presented on a wide range of topics including family violence, homelessness, trafficking and the substance abuse. Rebecca Tolstoy was the moderator and showed her passion towards this cause by running a fantastic session with the panelists. The panelists are joining us at the District Conference so we get to spend more time of knowing the work they are doing in RI District 5300 and some of their personal stories of having gone through some of these challenges themselves earlier in their lives. Attached article from Rebecca Tolstoy to explain the connection between Western Australia and California and it’s history.
We meet next on 4th April 2025 with Tanya Davies being the guest speaker. Her presentation topic is “Safety, Mental Health, Psychosocial Risk & The Law: Is Your Business Ready” and the booking link:
https://www.trybooking.com/CZETV.  Please note, the booking link will close at 3pm, Tuesday 1 April 2025.

Help us reach our goal!

There’s still a mountain of work to be done, and we need your support. If you're willing to contribute by collecting 10 cent cans, it’s simple! Just save the QR code below to your phone, then scan it at any “Containers for Change” site in WA to donate the funds to PROST.

I will hopefully have the final figures for the funds raised together with Shaw and Partners Foundation contribution at our 7th March luncheon to the members in my next newsletter.  I can proudly say that this is why I joined Rotary and the Rotarians I want to know and connect with because when it comes to giving, they all come together for the philanthropic effort of generosity.

Every little bit helps, and together we can make a big difference!

I DO HAVE A REQUEST TO THE MEMBERS: We have been working hard with Parmelia Hilton on confirming the final numbers for each lunch and they have requested the confirmed attendees latest by the close of business Tuesday of the lunch week. If you have noticed recently, the booking link for club lunch meetings closes on Tuesday afternoon by 3pm and the Club Services team have tried to accommodate everyone as much as possible (we do have 100% success rate so far).

What will really help in managing this requirement from the Parmelia Hilton Hotel, will be if the members wishing to attend the lunch can kindly book before Tuesday afternoon so we can still take a few walk ins and guests as last-minute attendees.  One of the reasons for me to send the newsletter earlier so you all have a reminder to book over the weekend.

Our next club meeting is Friday 4 April.  Please book by 3pm Tuesday 1 April 2025.

Regards,
Manu
