It’s been a busy couple of weeks – we kicked off November with Diwali celebrations on the 1st, followed by volunteering at the
Pirate Ship Foundation – Ultimate Backyard Cricket Match on the 2nd. We also had our AGM on the 7th, and capped it off with the
Rotary Foundation Celebration Dinner at Matilda Bay Restaurant on the 8th November 2024.
I look forward to the coming Friday luncheon (15
th Nov) as we host the twenty-one Japanese guests, (19 students & 2 lecturers) who are Rotarians from Tokyo and are coming to Perth. For the last 35 years a College group from Kagoshima, Japan (sister city to Perth) come to Perth for 4 weeks for an English / Homestay program run by Study Tours Perth. They are accompanied by the College President, Mr Toru Minami, a keen Rotarian & member of
Kagoshima East Rotary Club. The students aged 17 to 26 will speak & do a short cultural performance, with a number of the female students dressed up in their traditional kimonos. If you are yet to book, here’s the link -

On the 22nd of Nov, I’ll be attending the annual Steeltoes & Stilettos fundraiser organized by
Reflections, Perth Rotary’s newest corporate partner. This event is a fun and unique fundraiser where the tradie world meets the glamour of the red carpet! WA's male and female tradies will be strutting their stuff alongside professional models on the runway, all to raise awareness about the ongoing risks of asbestos in the construction industry. I look forward to seeing Rotarians come out and support Cate Harman and her team at Reflections with their biggest fundraiser of the year. Booking link -

And finally, we have on schedule the
Perth Rotary November Family Picnic for 30th Nov being hosted by Ian and Viola Belton at Kings Park Vietnam Memorial Pavilion from 2-4pm. Please book via

PRESIDENT MANU'S CHALLENGE TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE PERTH ROTARY CLUB - CAN WE RAISE $40K from Perth Rotary via the Cash for Cans/Containers for Change?
Past President Jeff Leach is growing a moustache for the month of November to raise funds for PROST - a not for profit charity assisting men to recover from prostate surgery. We want to help PP Jeff and our community by raising funds to set up another PROST group within Perth. President Manu will personally collect cans from your work place or home over the festive season and deliver to the recycling outlet. All you have to do is collect the cans and keep them aside. Ask your neighbors, family and friends to help. Lets see what we can achieve when we all work together.
I am committing to raising $40K from Perth Rotary in Cash for Cans in my year and help Jeff set 1 PROST up from Perth Rotary funding via the cans?
This is my Christmas appeal to YOU, the members of the Perth Rotary Club. I will report the funds we have raised at the President’s Cocktail Party, Thursday 30 January 2025 – ONLY IF we are able to get a decent amount 😉.
