Members and Friends of the Perth Rotary Club,
Welcome to my second newsletter, where I focus on members coming together and building the momentum that our great club has such a history of achieving.
Linken Fragomeli,
President 2023-2024, Perth Rotary
Since our last meeting:
It was wonderful to celebrate NAIDOC week at our last club meeting held on the 7th of July, the first club meeting for Perth Rotary Club in the 23/24 Rotary Year. We were grateful to have Megan Krakouer speak to us, earning our admiration for her huge work as the ultimate volunteer. Read more about her in the stories section of this newsletter. Since she joined us at our meeting she has continued to be in the news with all that she does to bring hope to so many people in our community.
The week that is:
This week, we will meet at Anzac House. The story that our speaker David Leith will share sounds like a World War Two movie, but it's all true. Come-on, Rotarians and friends - this is not to be missed! Here is the booking link, https://www.trybooking.com/CJBJJ, and see below for more details.
Looking forward:
If I could please ask you to mark in your calendar the evening of the 5th of August. Perth Rotary will host a Celebration dinner - to kick off the year (albeit we already have, why not create an event to formalise it). I look forward to seeing as many of you and your partners on the night creating a memorable evening. I will be formally announcing my great team who will be working with me over the next 12 months 'doing good'. Here is the booking link, https://www.trybooking.com/CJTZW, and see below for more details.
I have to say the last 2 club meetings particularly stand out for me, I feel the momentum building, they have been well attended and there's been a very positive vibe (many laughs) in the room. I encourage you to come along and enjoy, be a part of it, be in it. See below for your next opportunity to attend an event and share time with your fellow Rotarians. If you are reading this and are not a member, please feel free to attend where you will be welcomed and have the opportunity to meet members of the Perth Rotary Club.
The events to come are listed here, and in the newsletter, book in and I will see you there!
