Asbestos was used in over 3000 products and can still be found in older public or commercial buildings and houses. In fact, buildings constructed or renovated before 1990 are likely to contain asbestos in some form.
A hidden risk, there is no known safe level of asbestos exposure. It is estimated that more than 4000 people die every year in Australia from asbestos.

Reflections is a not-for-profit reducing the impact of asbestos and bringing hope to those affected.
Steeltoes & Stilettos is their flagship fundraiser that brings the risk of asbestos to the big stage when tradies are dobbed in and sponsored to walk the catwalk with a model.

This unique industry event, to be held at the Hyatt Regency on Friday 18 November 2022, coincides with their campaign for this year’s National Asbestos Awareness Week.
And we are all invited to get involved…

Dob in a mate – the highest fundraisers in each trade category, will be given the opportunity to strut their stuff with a model at the main event. With heaps of great prizes up for grabs
and the chance to be our Steeltoes Model Tradie of the Year.

Registering yourself – Register yourself and fundraise for this worthwhile cause. You will be supporting your own trade and your tradie mates.

Donate – Donate to a tradie or to a trade runway. Funds raised will increase awareness of the risk of asbestos.

Attend – Come along for a fun night out on Friday 18 November. Mingle with industry colleagues, Perthonalities and cheer on your tradie mate.
There are a limited number of VIP booths available too… you’re not going to want to miss the runway action!

Partner – Are you a business owner? There are still a limited number of opportunities to brand into this unique industry event – your brand on a runway, donation of prizes and
more. Get in touch with Reflections to find out more and help spread them message of asbestos safety.

Here at Perth Rotary, we are looking forward to our team getting involved. We hope you can join us in supporting this important cause!
