At our 1 May meeting, we heard from Rahul Seth CA, founder of the mental well-being charity Activate Mental Health. This dynamic, grassroots organisation is approaching its 10th anniversary in June, and its impact over the past decade has been remarkable. Activate Mental Health has grown to more than 8,200 members, supported by over 150 volunteers who have delivered 3,200 community events, each at an average cost of just $20.

When Perth Rotary presents gifts to speakers at our events, we include a donation made on their behalf to a charity or a club project. From May to July this year, our speakers will be presented with a donation to Activate Mental Health made in their honour.

Some testimonials shared by Activate Mental Health members include:

💬  I really enjoyed seeing familiar faces in a non threatening environment, knowing others may be struggling too and that we were all in this together doing something positive for each other.

💬 “I’ve been introduced to a variety of new people, interests and views, AMH has expanded my circle, and I have never felt any pressure, obligation or concern. Even with anxiety about things that are challenging, like learning the rules to board games There’s always been people around who understand, help, and support.”

💬 “After watching from afar for a while, I finally got enough courage to go to a pub quiz. I instantly felt accepted and have made some amazing friends. Since then, I have tried other types of groups, but the quizzes are a firm favourite of mine.”
