The Swan 2 Surf Rotary Community Group 2 is called to a meeting of all Clubs, Wednesday 12 November 2025.  What does this mean for our club?  The Perth Rotary Club?

The Rotary Regionalisation Pilot: A New Way Forward

The Rotary Community Group Regionalisation Pilot is a critical initiative in Australia (Zone 8) to modernize Rotary's structure and provide more direct support to clubs.

The core idea is simple: we achieve more by working together.   Our Focus:   The Swan 2 Surf Rotary Community Group

OUR club is now part of the Swan 2 Surf Rotary Community Group 2 (RCG2).

Participation in this group is fundamental to the new model's success, as it’s designed for clubs to collaborate based on shared geography, interests, and goals.

  • RCG Purpose: Encourage clubs to collaborate for greater collective impact and to share resources, which helps YOUR club feel less isolated.
  • Leadership: Our RCG is guided by an elected Rotary Community Leader (RCL), who is there to inspire, mentor, and connect us with regional support and resources.  Swan 2 Surf has a joint leadership team of Cat Ferrie (Crawley RC) and Jill Dawson (Perth RC).

Why This Change is Essential (The Core Objectives)  |

This pilot aims to fix long-standing challenges—like membership decline and inconsistent public image—by achieving five key objectives:

Objective
Benefit to Clubs
Improve Efficiency
Streamline administration and reduce duplication, making volunteer roles more manageable.
Strengthen Brand
Create a unified "Rotary voice" to boost public image and attract corporate partners.
Support & Grow
Give clubs direct access to resources for membership growth and innovation.
Increase Impact
Enable partnerships for large-scale projects and greater community change.
New Leadership
Develop meaningful and diverse leadership roles accessible to more members.

Ultimately, this new structure helps Rotary become nimbler and allows all members to focus more on service, fellowship, and fun, rather than bureaucracy.

How Swan 2 Surf RCG Directly Benefits OUR Club

Collaboration within the Swan 2 Surf RCG provides concrete opportunities for greater IMPACT and VISIBILITY:

  1. High-Visibility Projects: We can join forces on large projects that would be impossible for one club alone, significantly increasing our community impact (Eg:  Mini Forest Project).
  2. Public Exposure: We gain opportunities to bring Rotary to the people at major events with high attendance (e.g., Carols in the City).
  3. Wider Network: Direct access to a broader network of Rotarians for "brain trust" support, event planning, and specialist advice.
Upcoming RCG Collaborative Opportunities:
