ROTARY PATH TO PEACE

AN INSPIRATION TO STRIVE FOR PEACE

Many years ago, John Lennon urged our world to “live as one.”

He touched a global heart  that has continued to dream of and work towards his vision  ever since.
Perth seeks to support his vision with their new project, Rotary Path to Peace.

An inspiration to strive for peace, through reflection.

This project will create virtual paths of contemplation and reflection to inspire change. It tackles the difficult but vital task of changing the behaviour of fellow humans around the globe from anger and violence to mutual respect, in response to threats. Achieving this will remove the causes of war and violence at all levels from families to nations, leading to safe and fulfilling lives for all, through…

Positive Peace.

The word “Path” for this project has two meanings. Primarily it is the internal path each individual follows in learning ways that human behaviour can change from violence in any form to mutual respect, and then committing themselves to working towards peace.

Secondly it is the virtual path that enables individuals to find the information needed to stimulate them to proceed along the internal path.

The intention is to create the virtual path on an easily accessible website, that can be visited by many people and is conducive to contemplation. Once this is complete and evaluated, the plan is to make this website as widely available as possible.

For the website, the two essential ingredients are:

  1.  The domain and other requirements for a dedicated website.
  2.  The actual information and reflection challenge to the website visitors.

Expert assistance is needed in creation of both the elements.

Rotary International has been working towards the goal of peace for many years.  The details of this commitment will be included in the information on the website.

Your support for this project in any way will be welcomed and valued.  For a more detailed description of the current stage of development of the project, see www.rotaryperth.org.au/page/rotary-path-to-peace
