Unravelling the Thread of Modern Slavery in the Garment Sector

Globally, more than 40 million people are trapped in situations of modern slavery – more than any other time in human history.

Walk Free is an international human rights organisation working to end modern slavery globally within our generation. Walk Free is the producer of the world’s leading dataset on measuring and understanding slavery, and works towards system change through government, business, and faith, to ensure slavery is tackled through both a legal and cultural framework. This presentation will discuss Walk Free’s vital work before providing a deeper look into modern slavery within the garment sector and how our purchasing decisions have a moral impact.
