The Nurses of the Vyner Brooke

On 12 February 1942 sixty-five Australian nurses were boarded onto the ship the Vyner Brooke with civilian men, women and children who were fleeing Singapore as it capitulated to the Japanese in World War Two. This presentation will focus on the experiences of the group during World War Two, focusing specifically on the camaraderie and endurance of the women.
