Perth CBD's Whadjuk Heritage
Everyone should understand Perth's Whadjuk cultural heritage and how the modern city reflects the traditional owners gathering place.
Walter & Meg McGuire are National Tourism Award winners in Aboriginal experiences and dedicated to sharing and preserving Perth’s Aboriginal cultural heritage.

Walter McGuire is a well-respected Nyungar man around Perth. As a descendent of several Aboriginal tribal clans of the South West of Western Australia, Walter is a traditional owner of Nyungar Boodja, including the Whadjuk lands on which Perth city now stands. Walter conducts most of his Aboriginal cultural awareness activities including Aboriginal tours around iconic city locations.From childhood, Walter was schooled in Nyungar culture, language and customs by his parents and recognised Elders, including those of related tribal groups. In this respect, he shares his culture with deep reverence for his Ancestors, fellow Nyungar and First Peoples of Australia and the world over.

Meg McGuire is a Kungarakan woman whose traditional lands lie in the Northern Territory. Hers is a familiar face in the Nyungar community. Meg's work involvement include Aboriginal community engagement roles in employment, education, health and policy in urban, rural and remote areas of Western Australia and the Northern Territory of Australia. Meg's Aboriginality, university education and expertise combine to make her an invaluable member of this dynamic team. Meg is a firm advocate for Aboriginal self-determination, management and governance.
