Every Daughter Matters is a charity focussed on rescuing Nepal’s daughters from human trafficking. During 2025 Darren Reynolds, Head of Engagement in WA, presented to Perth Rotary just a few of the challenging rescues that this organisation carries out every day.

August was another busy month for the frontline staff manning the thirteen surveillance booths and emergency shelters positioned along Nepal’s border with India.  We documented 129 new rescues with all cases being reunited with their families and each case being referred to local law enforcement for further investigation.

As you would be aware, catastrophic flash floods and debris flows have swept through the Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading regions of Nepal, affecting more than 32,900 people and destroying thousands of homes.  Whilst our frontline operations remain intact and all our staff and in-care women and children are safe, Every Daughter Matters has swung into action helping provide urgent practical relief through kitchen and hygiene kits, transportation of essential supplies and psychosocial counselling. We are also strengthening local protections for women and children facing increased risks of human trafficking, debt bondage and unsafe migration in the aftermath of the floods.

Your gift can make a practical difference:
  • $75 helps transport essential relief supplies.
  • $158 provides a household with a kitchen or hygiene kit.
  • $391 provides complete practical support for one family.
  • $1,105 supports a psychosocial counsellor for three months.
Please stand with flood-affected families as they begin to recover, rebuild and find safety.

Thank you for your support.
