New Exhibition | SHIMMER Co-curated by Amanda Bell and Lee Kinsella

May 19, 2023 11:00 AM

Come along and join your fellow Rotarians for our Perth Rotary group tour of the latest exhibition, Shimmer. You will be some of the first through the show!

SHIMMER

Co-curated by Amanda Bell and Lee Kinsella

     Exhibition dates:  13/5/23-19/8/23

This is an exhibition considers responses to the landscape; of objects that emerge from a profound engagement with land to others that communicate a sense of dislocation or strangeness (for example, the migrant experience of Meta Overman as a Dutch composer feeling dislocated and removed from her center of culture and her European networks); works of protest and works of remarkable power, beauty and delicacy.  What is consistent to all is a sense of agency – of the land being an active and vital element of life.

Path of Hope 2023 Gala Ball Event Banner

Invitation – Perth Rotary’s Path of Hope Foundation 8th Consecutive Black Tie Gala | 20 May 2023 | Ritz Carlton | Perth

With the principal goal of breaking the intergenerational cycle of Family Domestic Violence, Path of Hope is delighted to this year be holding its 8th consecutive black tie Gala. On behalf of Path of Hope we warmly extend this invitation.

As well as raising much needed awareness of Family Domestic Violence (FDV) the Gala proceeds contribute to The Salvation Army in Western Australia, specifically in Perth and Karratha. Towards their valuable work with women and children experiencing FDV and also rebuilding their lives. The Salvation Army provides practical and direct support to survivors/victors through their outreach support programs and wellness centers.

We remain extremely grateful and honoured to have received ongoing support and amazing dedication from the major sponsors since the inaugural Gala in 2016, Hancock Prospecting and Roy Hill, of which Mrs Gina Rinehart AO is Chairman.

With the amazingly generous contributions of our major sponsors, donors and volunteers, Path of Hope’s 2023 Gala promises another exquisite evening raising awareness, opportunity and Hope for survivors/victors of FDV. It provides them an opportunity to experience genuine care, action and support from the community, on their journey of rebuilding their lives.

Annually, Gala themes create a magical evening, subtly raising awareness of FDV. 2023s theme of the centuries’ old tale, Little Red Riding Hood, educates about very real dangers of people (the wolf) masquerading as trusted family members (Grandma).

TOGETHER as individuals, local communities and businesses, we are achieving Path of Hope’s vision to end what is potentially the largest HIDDEN world-wide crime of humanity in our time, FDV. Path of Hope now exceeds its commitment result by having raised $10 million, comprised of over 19,000 volunteer hours, in-kind donations and more than $1 million direct financial funding.

We truly look forward to welcoming you on the evening.

Please confirm your seat booking at: https://www.pathofhope.org.au/event or feel welcome to contact us.
